Any idea how to troubleshoot why the jake switch does not activate the jakes all of a sudden? Never had an issue with it before. I did check the 2 speed jack switch at the dash and there is NOT 12V to the switch, so I assume that is part of the problem. It is wire#113,#114, and #115(red,white,and blue). Looks like the harness goes directly to the rear of the bus as it does not actually connect to the circuit breakers up front. Any ideas? Thanks |

Hi Joe, Looks like you will have to take some steps to find the problem. My next step would be to see if you have power at the buffer switch. If you do, you could have a broken wire to your dash. If you don't, you have trace back to the power source. Good Luck Nick- |

Would I have power at the switch at idle? I thought that the jakes become inactive below a certain RPM/speed? |

Hi Joe, I beleve not. Start at the buffer switch to see if you have power going to it first. |

ddec uses no buffer switch, it's controlled by the ecm. wire #508(cavity A1 on the vehicle ecm plug) grounds the relay which controls the jake. You will have to locate the relay & see if it is functioning. I can't help on the location, or wires particular to the Eagle. Maybe other Eagle owners can assist to location. Hope it helps dick egler |

Being that its DDEC, chances are it connects to an ATEC. I would check the ATEC for codes. If it has codes, clear the codes and the Jake will likely start working. |

Well, I am still not able to get the jake working. I do not have 12v at the jake on/off switch(not sure if I should at idle anyways.). I can't seem to find where the 3 wire loom(113,114,115) go so I can't trace the wires. I didn't see a relay in the engine compartment for wire 508. I looked at the ATEC and did not see the 3 wires, so I am a bit confused |

The only time you should have power at the switch is when you are at idle, so that seems normal. I would next try using a jumper from a known hot source directly to the wires leading directly to the Jakes. These are the leads that go thru the valve covers.
