Okay need some opinions. I recently had my dad's MCI-5A on e-bay. I know not much is moving but I had greatly reduced the price and had a buy it now. It was bought under the buy it now. Talked to the guy several times he and his girl(the money I believe) were coming up from Florida to SC to drive it home. Now they are no shows won't return calls. Plus I lost out on the other people that had called and were interested. I have names and numbers do I post them where other busnuts can see them to avoid this people if they try to purchase from them or do I just forget it and try again. I didn't get a deposit didn't think the guy would do this. Did get billed from e-bay for both a listing fee and selling fee. Oh well I quess live and learn. Thanks for listening and beware , Ed |

Sorry to here of your bad experience with a dead beat ebayer. I don't know if it will do any good to give out names or not. Have you contacted eBay regarding a no show/no buy? You might try it again soon, maybe the other folk that were interested might still be. Just include you being upset with a dead beat ebayer in your ad. And get a deposit next time, at least in that way you have something tangable in your hand. We bought ours on eBay, so there are some folk who do follow through with paying. Good Luck, Paul |

turn them into ebay, there is a process which will get your fees back as well as get them booted from ebay ( likely) go onto your auction site and get all the bidders ID's and email them and see if they are interested. to do it above board do a buy it now for an interested party on ebay again. do it below board and just sell it to them get paypal deposits...never take personal checks for big ticket items. list their names and phone numbers. |

I understand you can't be successfully sued for telling the truth, so tell us! I don't know why these people do this, but at least you're not really hurt financially. Whatever you do next time, don't release the bus until the check clears their bank!!! G |

I'm afraid that most potential buyers were scared away because of the huge increase in diesel price in last two months. Come on $ 5.00 a gallon? Enough to scare everybody away. If there is truly a bubble in oil prices, it will burst eventually and some of those wanabees will come back.Keep it clean, polished, fix those little nagging things that need attention and be ready. |

My 2 cents!!! You can definately get your seller fees back...just takes a little work. As for the buyer, you can sue him or her if you like. Takes approximately a year and 4 months to get you money if you want. When you buy or sell on Ebay, you are under contract with the buyer or seller. (B.T.D.T). If you play the game, you have to play by the rules set forth. If they were scared about $5.00 a gallon fuel...they should have been scared at $3.00 a gallon fuel. Thats not a good enough excuse. Randi, If that check was indeed a paypal check, it was as good as cash. You need to check with paypal to see if the check was counterfeit or not. Also, if it was a counterfeit, paypal will file charges against the person(s)involved "if " they can be tracked. -- BILL |

Bill is right....PayPal will stick with you . (I am in a situation just now with an EBAY discount coupon and Paypal has been in communication from my first message to them thru today...about 8 days.) I have NO complaints with their intentions. Have purchased several 2 Autos (each far out of our area) and some other more expensive items; they were involved thru each transaction. I use a CC for at least part of the transaction...that way one has not only PayPal but the CC company that will help fight your battles. FWIW RCB |

There seems to be more trouble on there with buyers with low numbers. This guy shows only 4 purchases in his history. See if you can get the fee resolved with E-bay; post negative feedback and relist it. Not worth the hassle to do much more for the aggravation with someone that barely has two nickels to rub together or was over his head anyway. Of course, it's just my opinion. |

The guy that has the account wasn't even the one buying it . It was his dad using his account. To make things even better the guy was going to use his girl friends money to buy it, until so she says he wanted to fulltime which she said no too.He has disconnected his cell phone they have split up all over a bus !!! Man did I open up a can of worms!!! I did file a dispute they have 7 days to respond and maybe I can get the seller fee back. Of course that puts a black mark on the son who did nothing but let his dad use his account.Stay tune I probably will relist when the smoke clears. |

It is my understanding that sellers can't leave neg feed back any more. Seems like the son messed up & will have to live with the consequences. About the can of worms, you did her a favor! The fact that the dude wanted to full time & he didn't have the cash to buy it indicates he was gonna be in way over his head. Ed, nice bus, especially for the $$. |

Be thankful you didn't get into one of those" I'll give you $1000 now and will faithfully give you $1000 every month and will pay the interest on it too". Yeah, I know, You wouldn't do that; you know better. Especially a relative. |

Having bought and sold many $$$ worth of stuff on e bay (mostly cars and bues) I do not/will not use them or pay pal any longer.Too many no pays BUT E bay ALWAYS gets paid! Same with paypal. Had a fraud send over payment by CC to pay pal then wanted overage back. I said NO - have your CC company charge it back. He then canceled deal and wanted all of his money back. I left all of his payments with paypal and told them from day 1 that it was a scam. They finally pay him back and charged me all the fees -- both ways!! I fought it for a long time and only got form letters. I feel they helped in the scam AND profited from it to boot by way of fees. No more -- EVER! JimH |

Got one better... My sister lived with us for 18 mo. during/after her divorce and cancer treatment. Unfortunately, during that time, she bailed out on a whole bunch ($500+) of ebay transactions and fees. The next thing I know, Paypal has frozen MY Paypal account (with $300 in it) because they, in their infinite wisdom, had decided that my sister's and my ebay/paypal accounts were linked because we had the same address. They eventually claimed the money in my Paypal account against the her debt. I fought it for months with no success. When going through this, I discovered something about ebay/paypal: They have been successfully sued over this kind of activity multiple times to the tune of several million $$, but they have not changed their policies/practices. Apparently, after calculating in paying the occasional multi-million $$ judgment, they are still scamming enough money from consumers that it is still profitable to continue the practices. In other news, my wife was telling me last night that she is starting to get significant traffic/transactions on ubid now, so she is going to be increasing her volume of product listed there. |
