RJ, Apparently what you are describing are household type CO detectors. If so, they are designed to run on 120 VAC, and on battery for only a short time during power failures. They will work fine in a bus, but take the batts out before you leave it for the winter, or they will be dead, and tend to leak and ruin things. Also, these will cause an inverter with idle feature to run in power all the time, for what that's worth. G |

You are better off to get CO detectors that operate off 12 volt DC for the reasons mentioned above as well as 12 volt DC models are made for vehicles and can better handle bumps, jolts and vibration associated with traveling. I just bought 2 combination smoke detector and co detectors for $40 and change on sale at Menards (ie Home Depot, Lowes, etc) they arent that expesive and came with new alkaline batts also. |
