What is the best way to measure DC amperage? Is there a DC clamp on type meter like the AC clamp meters? Where to get one? |

Fluke makes several AC/DC meters. Here's the cheapest of them: http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/3707 tg |

If you are talking trouble shooting, a clamp on type is real handy. There are usually a bunch on the e place. One very useful feature is the store/peak function. It will store the max reading like startup surge ect. They will measure almost anything up to and including starter draw. An AC clamp meter is handy too. Good luck Don 4107 |

The copany I work for has always used the UEI meters. they are not as rugged as Fluke but for the average user that will take care of their tools they are a great alternative. Try this link. http://www.ueitest.com/productList-clampon.html . |

It appears that these meters are not DC AMP clamp on meters, except for micro amps which would be of little benefit. Richard |
