I purchased a set of jakes for a detroit from a guy in PA PA West Virginia and he never sent them. I went to Pay Pal and submitted a complaint but never got an answer. So it works both ways for scammers. Since I am not close to that area I will never beable to confront the guy

that would be Paw Paw WV.

Did you file the complaint through ebay as well.

you have to go through the entire process....and he will have to prove he sent them and they were recieved.

CALL Paypal....they WILL stick with you thru the entire thing. I just went thru that for the past two weeks and they were on email with me daily until things were resolved.....and they resolved it.

...Go to MY ACCOUNT and follow thru all the instructions...you will find their 800 number.

You should also use your credit card when using Paypal so you have yet another way to dispute the charges. I have had to use that route before.

I did file a complaint but he is not replying to them or me. not much chance of anything if the seller won't communicate. I tried to call him on the phone but only got thru one time and he said he wouuld ship them as soon as he was able. After that no answer on the phone.

Jerome, if the seller fails to respond to a complaint, he loses the dispute. That's exactly what happened to us when we received a defective new furnace.

You do have to follow the steps!

Yes however they say it was too long from the time of the sale that I filed so they closed the case on me. I wasn't aware that they had a limit on time as I got the personal info first and tried to communicate with the guy to get the items.

Laryn....me too. Absolutely crucial as far as I am concerned.

One learns hard lessons in life, but this is one that need not be learned the hard way. Your credit card company will put charges on hold till things are worked out; which, of course, means the seller doesn't get paid.

I start any procedure immediately if things aren't normal or "don't seem right"....and I use EBAY message center....not regular email or phone unless nothing else works. Lots of documentation and lots of contact with Paypal answering each of their email with a response succinctly reiterating the "problem". To be sure it is more difficult if the seller is uncooperative and wont answer phone calls....

Squeaky wheels get greased......:-)

I've been scammed once, but I let e-bay know right away although I was still trying to resolve the issue with the seller. I ended up getting most of my money back from e-bay, although I had to absorb the shipping charges I had paid. In this case I didn't use PayPal, but sent a bank money order as that was all the seller would accept. I don't think he realized that money orders are traceable. I was able to send e-bay a copy of the cashed money order, which I got from my bank and the seller was booted off e-bay, but they never removed the false negative feedback he posted.

I've a a couple of cases where there was an exceptional delay in shipping. In each case when I contacted PayPal, they took it up with the seller and I got quick action on the matter.

If the seller doesn't accept Payal, then I just don't bid on the item.

Here is what I did with a dead beat in KY. I found out his exact address, then I called the local County Sheriff and explained my situation to him and ask if they could drop by and pay him a visit. The Sheriff said he would stop by, and pay the guy a visit the next day to make his aquaintence. Four days later my things arrived.

This Sheriff said the guy about pooped his pants when the Sheriff arrived, and told him I had filed a complant, and told him if he didn't follow through to my satisfaction he would be in a world of trouble. It worked like a charm
