I cannot get the engine to keep its prime. It is a 6V92TA DDECIV in a GMC so it sits at a 45 degree angle. Whan I disconnected the lines on the left head (low point in system) I got about 3 ounces of fuel. There should have been a lot more. The check valves in the system are working okay. Is it possible for a leaking injector to lose that much fuel sitting overnight? I can't see where the fuel would go if it wasn't an injector. Any ideas would be appreciated especially if you have had this problem. Bill |

Bill I once had a similiar problem. It turned out to be the fuel pump shaft was worn. It would get air with in a few hours. Over night almost every cylinder would miss fire for about 15 plus seconds on start up. If I can tell you any more about it you can contact me Craigc at hughes dot net. Craig C |

Check your engine oil, might be diluted with fuel. Pull engine oil dipstick, see if level is too high and smells like diesesl fuel. Might have a bad fuel pipe at injectors. Pull valve covers, look for a "clean" trail across inside head surface - that will be an indicator. There are more tests we do to check fuel systems, these are 2 quick checks. Goodl luck. |

Thanks guys I had the injectors tested today and no problem found. I bought another pump as everything else looks okay. All fuel lines are covered in oil so no fuel leaks there. Going to presurize the system and so if anything shows up. Bill |
