Does anyone know what the oil capacity of an NHHTC 855 is? When I installed mine the dipstick had no markings on it so I put 44qts which is rule of thumb for a conventional 855. It seems to me to put the evel very high in the pan.I just changed the oil again. and just don't know what the correct amount is. |

Doug...hopefully Henry will read your post. Mine is much older ( NHH220 turbo) and takes 40 qts.) Also my dipstick is "funky" and has hand scribed markings. There was a post on one or the other of the "two" boards re the "sweet spot" on an engine dip stick....might watch that as you put on miles and just see what happens. Meantime, I think you are "safe" with the 44. FWIW RCB |

Doug...check the "other board" and ask Gary... He may have some words of wisdom....Henry also monitors that board. FWIW RCB |
