Hi gang

We are on a holiday spending time both in Holland and Germany.
As you can well imagine the topic of conversation and complaint is the high cost of fuel.
Diesel is now 9.25 us dollars per us gallon. But that has not slowed the traffic on the german autobahn. It is a little unnerving to be driving at 130k and being passed as though standing stil by somebody doing 180 or more. The dutch are a little saner maxing their speed limit at 120.

Taking lots of bus pictures when I see any, but it seems that old buses are extinct here. All the equipment is fairly new and very modern in appearance. Busses are limited to 100 max and loaded freighttrucks to 80. That could be the speed in our future.

Having a great time renewing acquantences with family and friends from fifty years ago.

From germany Joe.

Joe,

I'm in Prague, Czech Republic for three working, installing a robot and other equipment. I too am amazed at the cost of fuel over here, and we complain when it hits $5!

As far as the speed over here, 140kmph is normal for small cars, 200 plus for MB's, Audi's and the like. Trucks and tour buses drive 80-100 kmph. These fast cars pass you like your sitting still.

Have not seen any bus conversions, just lots of tour buses and a couple of cars pulling camp trailers.

Hope you have a safe and fun trip Joe,

Paul in The Czech Republic

Or a type of Mexican food;)
I forgot to ask when I had dinner tonight. Will try to remember tomorrow.

I went for a drive today and saw a castle that was built in the 1300's. Now I don't feel so old:-)

Visited another castle yesterday, and got to talk to a coach driver that was waiting for his passengers.
A very nice 5 year old Kassbohrer-Setra equiped with MB engine and 8 speed manual. equipped with extra altenator for the kitchen. His fuel consumption, averages 8.6 us mpg with which he was quite pleased He tought fuel was still cheap in the US and <i told him not according to the grumbling that I hear. Their newest unit is equipped with a 12 speed auto. Likely the last post from Germany

Joe.
