Can anyone tell Me if their is a suitable replacement for a tu-flo 600 on My 8v71. Is there a replacement that is a higher flow rate that will boltup or is there a compatible pump of another brand. I notice on ebay that there are numerous pumps for sale but never a tu-flo 600. Any help? Thanks , John

I am pretty sure a TruFlo 700 or 750 will fit. Go to a local large truck past supply store. THey should be able to confirm what is a available as a repalcement. Jack

You can put a 700 on that bolts up without any plumbing changes. The 500 to the 700 are outwardly identical; you have to read the tag to tell the difference. No one messes with the 600, and Bendix does not make them anymore. I have priced a rebuilt 700 locally for ~$200 with core exchange. Nick at NIMCO sells good take-outs. $100 for a 700, $150 for a 750. The 700 produces 15.5 CFM and the 750 16.5 CFM. I would go the easy route and find a 700 if you are replacing.

I should have said the 500, 600, and 700 are identical. There are others like the 550, 750 etc. that are of a different type.

The numbers refer to cubic feet of air flow. I think a 500 is overkill, but nice, so you can take it from there. A 750 would pump your tanks up real fast and that could be a plus. I always prefered the big ones, but Cummins comes with about a 225 cu ft unit and you learn to wait a minute to fill your tanks.

The 500 produces 12.5 cfm and probably came stock on many buses.

Look up the TU-FLO 700 on the Eplace. I bought a rebuilt from an outfit in the CHI area about a year ago and it was GREAT. Gave me plenty of time to return the core. The also sell Air Brake actuators.

Email me and I'll give you a link....jusme100@yahoo.com
