I need to locate the fasteners that secure the section of bumper that is located on the door. It consists of two rubber parts that are affixed to the body and to the bumper with a bolt between the rubber parts.
OR are there other alternatives? I like to think that GM designed/used these fasteners for a reason,(metal fatigue), so I should too.

I used fasteners purchased from my local Freightliner dealer. They are used to secure a grill section on the trucks. The studs are smaller (1/4 inch) but this is not a problem and worked well.
