Its a long ride from CT to AK, so to see some sights we simply headed North to Maine , and then into New Brunswick Canada then Quebec.

Same trees , same unpaved rough roads but nice sights allong the shoreline.

Now almost to Gaspe, Quebec , a bit more pavement and even quainter sights of waterfront.

Seems like another world , almost every sign is French , English no where to be seen.

Some folks do speak English OK ,so its fun and I don't have to use my Paris technique,

After 2 years of HS French , 50 years ago, I can bring a Paris Cab driver to such pain with my "french" they will immediatly use any English they know..

Many of the resturants are Great! but the prepaired section of many markets is also really good , and far less costly.

Only a couple of weeks for the maritime tour , then back to the "honey do" salt mine.

With the price of fuel, a short quickie like this is still a way to Enjoy the coach .

Wi Fi is at many campsites , free or cheap, hope I don't get addicted to the speed difference between Wi Fi and dial up!!

Thanx Fred....we did the Quebec, Nova Scotia, Maine trip a few years ago, but had too little time to enjoy it (from NM).

Keep us posted.

Fred

Many memories of the Gaspe along time ago. Did the turnover of a new microwave system for Hydro Quebec back in the sixties. Likely all replaced with fiber now. Got very stuck in one of those infamous snowstorms that blow in off the ocean. Midwinter,Still remember crawling the longest 300ft on all fours forty years later.
Have fun.

Joe.

Enjoyed the travelogue Fred, I used to haul veneer lumber out of northern Quebec. Had some funny stories of me trying to order food in "French only" truckstops.
Thanks for jogging my memories.

Before heading south we stuck 200 liters of fuel in , $300CN,

Not so long ago it would have been 200 GALLONS for that $300 bucks , thank God there is an election coming.

Our plans got shortened the Towd (82VW Rabbit) lost its fuel pump.

$250 at NAPA in CN , about $85 inline in the US, so I guess Quebec City and Montreal will have to suffer with out us for this summer..
