Ok ya nuts, I have an 8v71 block and it was sitting a good while and for some reason it rusted up a little and I was wondering what to do with it. It was line bored and was ready for rebuild. I think in the back of my mind I can take it to a machine shop and have it boiled out and that will eliminate the rust and will allow me to start rebuilding. What do you all think??

Thats called a "seasoned block" highly sought after on any good drag racing circuit. You may have to lightly hone some of the bearing surfaces and the liners. Perfectly usable if you know what your doing.
