Has anyone added or know if Jake Brakes can be added to a 1977 Eagle model 05. The drivers side valve cover has plenty of room, but the passenger side has the air intake plenum running between it and the floor not much room at all. The valve covers have to be replaced with taller ones, anyone know the height difference. Anyone know of a shop in the south east that you would reccommend. Want to take a very long trip next year (Alaska) and the added braking will be very helpful. Thanks for any Info, Ed |

The valve covers are a little over 3 inches taller but when you use the spacers with the old valve covers the the spacers are 2 inches |

Ed, Dave Matthews installed the Jakes on the 102 that I am converting for a guy in Chicago. Dave Matthews, 3612 E Johnson Ave., Haines City, FL (863)528-4366 Do you have the cast aluminum or stamped steel valve covers? The spacers can only be used with the stamped steel covers. Ed, you'll love 'em. Ray Cox and Ralph (damn it... can't pull up his last name just now... sorry Ralph) helped me get my jake brake switch working and Joe at John Silver's shop got the wiring working. I've used the waddin' out of it this last week.... down some 9%'ers in second at 20-25 mph... very controllable and comfortable. Good luck... I think they'd be well worth it for your bus. dg |
