Can anyone tell me what type of trans. is in my bus? It is a 1976 MCI-8, 8V71, ser # S12117, unit # 31467. It is a 4 speed automatic. I want to service the trans. before moving it and need to find out what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Greg, 99% chance it is an HT740 Allison. If so, and it has a standard pan, capacity is 7 1/2 US gallons of Dexron II. |

To be sure just look at the tranny for the plate , that lists all the info, model, serial etc. FF |

Thank you all. I searched high and low on the tranny for a plate and could not find one. I think I'll go with the HT 740 for filters and gasket. I just want to bring it closer to my new home(150 mi) so I can get to work on it again. Thanks again for the info. Greg |
