Hello fellow busnut bretheren. I have posted in the past that I was having an issue with the RPM's on my 671 hanging at 1500 sometimes when coming off the highway. Anyway I have scheduled it in the local detroit shop next week to have them run the rack and adjust the govenor but this weekend I had a nagging quesiton in my mind about blower seals. I pulled the intake off the blower and looked inside. I can see a dark greasy stain on the end plate and what looks like a thin film of oil on the lobes of the blower. I assume any oil on the lobes is not normal correct? Would this potentially be enough to hold rpms when no fuel is commanded? It doesn't look too tough to remove the blower if necesary at least. Thanks for any input you have. Tim |
