Forgive me...I know this has come up many times and I really thought I had recorded the information (senior moment??), but can't seem to locate it or the proper "keyword" on this board. I am pretty sure FF and Scott Whitney have supplied the information needed, BUT...

Would you please do it again??? I need some custom made tanks and would prefer they be UPS-able.

Muchas Gracias. :)

RCB -

Why not make your own?

George Lowry (over on the Yahoo GMC busnuts group board) made his own, and wrote about how he did it. I think the article's posted on Tom Hall's site. But do a search on the GMC board first. . .

By building your own, they'll fit "just right"!

Custom made is very very expensive , but the big Mfg hare so many sized and styles its seldom necessary.

MY sugestion is Dura Cast in Lake Wales FL, and a seperate tank size of 50Gal or so.
This makes each tank UPS shipable very cheaply (they are light) .

The have a great catalog , and will work to a simple sketch to install ,vent, fill & draw fittings.

With a bit of fiddeling you should be able to get really close to "ideal" at a much lower cost and hassle than custom made.
A couple of small tanks might even be safer (lower surge loads , small tank works as baffle)

I had a guy in Denver custom build mine. Not cheap but I got what I wanted. I could dig up his name if you're still looking. Mike

Many thanx for the responses. I have onsidered building my own, and may indeed go with that. The tank I specifically need "custom", is the blackwater tank.

I need to place the commode between the wheel wells and pump up and over one wheel ( all above the floor) in which case I will go for a marine unit. Or, the alternative, to mount the commode on a tank, on the wheel well housing, which is 6 inches above the floor. In that case, the tank needs a "long neck" toward a larger cube, not necessarily large in size, but about 35 gallons worth. There is a possibility, I suppose of running a 2.5 inch exit line from the commode to a tank, but any more than that would put the seat height above 20 inches and not very comfortable for short people, I should think. (my wife says I should, too...:) )

From what I have put together so far, it seems to be about a trade off for expense. The other tanks, two fresh, (under the bed) and the gray, in the galley, iunder counters I intend to purchase from stock. \\Comments?

Thanx again for the input and addresses. I will chase each one of them.
