I have an MC-5c which came with bifold doors. I have purchased a single swing door off an MC9. I was planning on using a piano hinge on the front, but can't seem to get the configuration correct so that the door will open. Has anyone done this or are there plans somewhere? I do not have the original hinges so that is not an option. |

I don't believe the sedan door is compatible with the bi-fold frame. Not sure though. The guy that would know is Sam Caylor at Caylor Supply, Rantoul, Kansas. He's 'da man on MCI. Sam kills and parts out many, many MCI's per year. |

Bifold and sedan doors are interchangeable for MCI, in as much as the right doors will fit the right units, and the mounting points for both are present standard from the factory. Yes, check with Caylor, might be easier to get the proper hinge assembly and fabricate one of the busnut locks/door handles instead of the stock door opener. happy coaching! buswarrior |

Thanks all, I think I will try to find some stock hinges as the "piano hinge" may work well on a piano, but sucks when trying to install a door! |

My two cents are there must be some difference, When I work'd on the line at MCI they had a hell of a time making them work rite. same with the wheel chair lifts. The engineers seem'd to be like bees around them. Dave L |
