FAST FRED really is one of the reasons this board has so much character. It would be a much duller place without the likes of FAST FRED, as it would without the invaluable contributions of so many others, such as RJ Long, JJ, Cory Dane, Jim Stacy, the various Steves - Fessenden, Gibbs, Sanford, to name just a few. How much we benefit from their involvement in this community is immeasurable. Not only do they bring their wisdom and experience to the board, they also bring their personalities and their opinions. It's a diverse place full of new ideas, preconceived notions, hard facts, good intentions, friendly disputes, loyalties, a sense of wonderment, and even egos. We wouldn't be here if we weren't enriched by it all. Without a doubt, FAST FRED is standing at the front of the room pointing the way. We also know that he is pointing his way. Thankfully, it's usually the right way. Whether you think it is or not, however, just adds the character we need to keep it all interesting. That's why we come back. Thanks, FRED. And, thanks to everybody! R. TERRY |

My goodness, I never thought that I might make even the slightest mark on anyones life and yet, I am willing to share either what I have done or what theory I have learned to do the right job. For myself, thank you for the thought but I cannot accept this award as there are so many others that deserve an equal standing ovation or better. Let it be said that I am happy to be part of the group that has been accepted to be able to assist even one person through their project. Being a Bus Nut takes a lot of guts, and as I have seen, a lot of money and work effort. I, as are all the rest of our contrubutors, fully support anyone that may want to take on a project of this magnitude and try to see it through to completion. I must admit, I get a tear in my eye when I read someone's post, with utter excitement, his adventure of the maiden voyage and all the exciting things that happen along the way. And to think that I may have helped to contribute to even one of these very happy owners makes it all worth it. As for EGOS, friendly disputes, well, I try not to allow these to get in the way, but we all have our moments, don't we. I must give a big thanks to Ian for starting the "Places We Stay" BBS. I know he has given me credit for the idea, and maybe I had a small part in its creation, but have you read some of the great places that have been listed already? And all contributions are thanks, again, to Bus Nuts that have been on the road and found a favorite place to share. I hope you will all take the opportunity to add you favorite places to the data base. Yes, what better place to find information about systems and find help on almost any subject but here on the BBS's. Respectfully - cd |

Each morning as I awake...I first read the e-mail,then go to MAK's bulletin board...then to Jerry Russells board and finally to Bus Nut Online. In the 3 years that it has taken us to convert an eagle to an RV....the bus boards have been a great help to us.....I don't know you guys personally...but it is evident that your bus converting worries are about the same as mine. Bus converting is just one facet of craziness,ie.,motorcycles, airplanes, jogging, auto restoring...etc...... Now...if only I could figure out how to eliminate all the smut offers that come over the e-mail...I would be very happy. This coming week..we will take our first real trip in our 'baby'.....If you see an eagle with the logo...'An Even Brake' with FMCA # 571 plates...give us a honk or wave. |

David: Wow, #571, congrats on the Eagle. Are u a charter member? Most of the people I know with even 4 digits long ago gave up on conversions and went to Tupperware. Thnks for keeping w/the founding tradition! |

Hay no body ever thanked me for anything! Of course I haven't done anything... But that doesn't stop me from being totally saturated with self-centered fear. Oh and by the way, you left out George Lowry & Luke. |
