I thought it would be fun , and perhaps informative to start a string of "dream " presents. I would like to limit the catagory to things that exist , rather than what we can dream up , perhaps for a second list? Of all the goodies out there the Flowscan makes the top of my list. Something I would love to have , but am too cheap to purchase. Started life as a boat item and like any good idea can be transplanted with excellent results to have fun in a coach. The Flowscan is an instant reading fuel flow gage. There is a little gadget on both the fuel in & fuel out that measures what passes by & reports the instant results to a gage. Lift your foot a bit and watch the fuel flow change a tiny bit. The unit also has a Totalizer that will tell with remarcable accuracy the total amount of fuel used. As a fellow that has put 130 gal into a rated 140gal tank , (ooops!)it sure would remove the pucker factor . For those long runs between high tax states , or back to the US border from Canada , it would be the gage to watch! Does anyone else have an (if the income tax were canceled , or if I won the lottery) type present for their coach in mind? FAST FRED |

Maybe a 6-92 to replace my 8-71. Could you post a URL where I can see more about this FlowScan. Maybe I will change my wish from the 6-92 to one of these. Probably won't get either one, but doesn't hurt to wish LOL Jack |

I think that a repower with a series 60, and a World Transmission would be great apart from the length and height problems in an MC-8, so I would settle (LOL) for a Cummins M-11 instead. Peter. |

Since we are talking total dream states here....yea, would like very much to update my lowly 250 hp Cummins Big Cam pancake diesel engine (Crown Super Coach) into a Big Cam Cummins 444 hp engine. Broom! Broom! Broom! Of course, having said that, the turbo intercooler plumbing alone, not counting everything else, would be a nightmare for it all to properly fit and function, but doable with enough $$$. Dream on Henry. Thank you Fred. |

Hello Again...... But....If I updated the 250 (700 torque) into a 444 (1450 torque) then my present clutch, tranny, u-joints and driveshafts become marginal. Which would be OK as long as I kept my foot out of it, but........ ......The first time I forgot and mashed the motor in the low side low gear......BANG!!!! BOOM!!!!!!! CRASH!!!!!! Oh well, are we having fun yet? Fred...this is ALL YOUR FAULT!!! He he he. |

In aviation its called a fuel totalizer, uses a transducer to measure fuel flow and reports to a panel mounted computer, displays total fuel remaining in the tank, total fuel burn, total TIME (in miles) left to go till empty and gives a warning when down to a preset level left in the tank >>>Dan (only about 300 bucks) |

Replace my skoolie's 370 2V/Spicer 5+2 with a 5.9 litre 12-valve Cummins with the entire Dr. Performance catalog thrown at it, & a 7-speed Eaton-Fuller with 2-speed rear end. Also, money falling from the sky is welcome. That, & a few Platinum Cat vented catalytic propane heaters. |

For the great toy Website: http://www.floscan.com These are a bit more costly than the aircraft units ( didn't think ANYTHING could be?) as the unit needs a sender in the return line to measure fuel going back to the tank , as well as going to the engine. A great Xmas present for any GM owner would be a donor transit bus. Series 50 engine , new tranny , new rear axle that parts ARE avilable for with big transit brakes , new front axle with sharp cut angle and big transit brakes, and even power steering for the ladies.A 50 yearr step foward for $2000. Although I requested an item with an almost unlimited budget ,( so most think of new power trains ), what I really had in mind was something smaller. We all have some fun improvement in the back of our minds that's just a bit out of $ensable reach, what's yours? FAST FRED |

"These are a bit more costly than the aircraft units" Fred...The last one I had in an airplane cost a little over $2000 I think. Expensive, but for cross country or IFR it should be required. So accurate that I would trust it as a primary fuel guage. The Floscan is a fuel flow computer similar to what I had in the plane...Not just a simple flow guage. I'm guessing the post regarding these for $300 is in reference to a simple flow meter and not a computer. If not, I'd like more info. As I recall, the sensor alone was more than $300. BTW...I'd also like one for the bus... Ross |

I have a floscan for the bus, it does all FF says it will and more. Of course to buy it, you have to tell them you are putting it in a BOAT. They will not sell to a bus conversion. But back to the dream, My dream would be to have time and / or money to work on and complete my conversion. Current work restraints, 12hr day, 3hr+ commute plus household duties knock away at my time at the bus. When I purchased the bus, these restraints were not in the picture but things change as life moves on, doesnt it. I added the money comment, not that I desire to be rich but that I be able to have the bus done if I cannot complete it my self. Iv'e gone as far as looking at the GMC motorhomes, an older brother of the GMC Transit bus, to buy simply because it is completed and ready to go. Ah but then I would have to sell the BUS. But as this is a dream, these are my thoughts-cd |

Just found a site for a "new" GMC motorhome. Pretty cool units. Basement air with twin compressors, V10 ford pusher, ZF transaxle and independent front and rear suspension. Very low profile and a sleek looker Found at www.special-interest-veh.com if you wanna take a look |
