I am looking for front suspension pictures or links to pictures of some of the different coach front suspensions. Torselastic, air etc. I haven't spent any time under coaches, just in them so I am curious to find out what they look like and how they function. |

You will probably need to join the group to access it but last year I scanned and posted the entire service manual for my Flxliner. It has exploded views and parts lists for the entire coach. It can be found here http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/flxowners/files/SERVICE%20DEP%27T/FlxLiner/ All you need to do is download all three files and run the executable. It will process them into a single pdf file |

Any way you could just send me the page or picture or two of the front suspension? I really don't need an entire manual. |

I should be able to when I get to the office tomorrow. Do you want the rear torsalistic as well while I'm at it? |

Sounds cool. You should bring that coach to an ATHS national some time. There are usually a number of older coaches that are included. ATHS is American Truck Historical Society. Anything over 25 years old and a truck or truck like qualifies. There are military vehicles too. |

Kevin- I'm an old trucker myself. On my AMGeneral transit conversion, the steering shaft comes down from the steering wheel to a 90 degree mitre box gear, then goes horizontally back to the steering gear mounted directly on the front axle. Makes for less bump steer and unbelievable turning angles-like about 63degrees. I am in the early stages of converting my old truck a 1985 Kenworth 90" cabover aerodyne into a motorhome. It has a 235" wheelbase that I will extend out to a 283" wheelbase, have a 32ft van made with a beaver tail 12ft over hang in the rear for a car garage (to garage like a Honda Fit). It has a Caterpillar 3406B 400hp with a 13 spd Roadranger that will be exchanged for an Allison HT740 four spd automatic. It will take me about 3-4 years to complete. Nice to here from another trucker. Good Luck, TomC |

Here are three illustrations. Let me know if there is anything else you want like steering gear http://members.tccoa.com/timb/front%20spring.jpg http://members.tccoa.com/timb/front%20suspension.jpg http://members.tccoa.com/timb/front%20torsilastic.jpg |
