My son is buying a 28 foot 79 Bluebird school bus to be used as a RV. The living area is 22 feet. The interior has been stripped out. Finances dictate an incremental approach to conversion. An air conditioner and generator is the first order of business. Initially, at least, insulation will be limited to heavy curtains / drapes on the interior.
Do you all think one 15000BTU air conditioner would do the job both underway and stopped? Where would you put it? Amidships or more toward the front. Should he put it forward with the idea of a smaller one toward the rear-- future installation.
Ideas? Comments? Recommendations?

Thanks

Being northerners who like fresh air, we've put the air conditioner way down on our list. That way, we can set up for shore power and rough it a bit when boon docking.
We're concentrating on the interior and basic plumbing necessities. Our idea is to make a cabin on wheels that we can take on vacation and see the sights.
Maybe after a season or two we'll change our minds but for now, the money stays in our pockets.
Just our comments.

One AC unit will be hard put to cool it with no insulation. That is if you are going west or south in the summer time. I would reccomend you use some insulation.
