I have checked super-bright leds web site for the replacement light for the back of my MC-9. I can't find the right bulb to work I have 1638 and 1683 base bulbs. All I see on the site is 1156 & 1157 base bulbs. Do I have to change bases for the led setup. They have the 24 volt bulbs for the 1156 & 1157 base. rear lights on my MC-9

I believe that you will find that the 1638 is the 24 (actually 28) volt equivalent of the 1157 and the 1683 is the 28 volt 1156. If they claim to have a 24 volt for the 1156 or 1157 base, they are not labeling them correctly. The 1156 and 1157 are only 12 volt lamps. Should work OK.

Check the site again and go to 'Other LED Bulbs'. They have 24 volt bulbs for your bases.

Jason -

I also seem to be having bulb / lighting problems.
Can you tell me if the 1638 OR the 1683 bulbs work as your backup lamps?

Thanks,

Nellie Wilson

Nellie I'm on the road in my truck will not be home today but I believe it is the 1638. If not I'll repost with the right one. I down loaded a free oparator manual for free and it has all the specs in it. Our bus has the update kit but all bulbs seem to be same as oe.
