I am used to an old RV, nothing special and certainly none of the amenaties that the buss shall have eventually like dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer. SOOOOOOO, my question is, how do you winterize the dishwasher and washer dryer for winter storage? From what I have read, they are total automatic so how is it done? q |

There is "drinkable" antifreez at your local RV or Boat store , or even in hardware stores near boat places. This can be used to fill the various mechanicals , (FW heater usually has dump/bypass to save anitfreez) . Be sure to fill or drain the Bosch/Paloma style water heaters . And to drain the FW accumulator tank too. Stick FW pump supply hose in 5gal of the stuff and let it wun thru everything. (about $3.00 gal, DO NOT dilute!!!) SAVE any that runs from faucet to dump into main water tanks , even drained there can be water left in these. FAST FRED |

Don't forget the traps, especially in the dishwasher, the ice maker, the instant hot water heater, the spigots in the bay, and the radiator mister, if you have any of these. I forgot my bay spigots last winter and you can guess what happened. Richard |

Or actually one can go to a warmer winter climate thus preventing freezing, PLUS as a failsafe engineering exercise simply add sufficient grain or corn alcohol to the plumbing system in sufficient qualtity to..... .....Prevent any possible freezing potential, then simply consume the treated water at the end of the travel day to test the antifreezing ability of the treated water which will not freeze since you are now in a warmer winter climate. |
