I have a 6v92 with a ddec II. I am getting a code of low oil pressure with a MID of 128. I have changed oil pressue sensor, tested the wire harness and put a manual gage in place of the sensor and it shows 30psi @ idle and 65@ 1500rpm. with my pro-link hooked up it shows 15 to 16 psi on the pro-link no matter what rpm you use. Today I took the sensor off and hooked it to air pressure of 65psi and the pro-link still only showed 15 to 16 psi. Any suggestions ! Thanks |

Are you sure you are checking the correct oil pressure sensor that is for sure tied in to the DDEC? |

BPO, the DDEC compares the oil pressure to the rpms if this not happening you have a bad sensor.What is your idle speed if it is too low they will shut down should be around 650rpm for auto transmissions, that is good idle pressure for a DD so oil is not the problem 10 lbs is about the average for a 92 series.A 6v92 will be a little higher because they have a 8v92 oil pump FWIW good luck (Message edited by luvrbus on February 16, 2009) (Message edited by luvrbus on February 16, 2009) (Message edited by luvrbus on February 16, 2009) |

BPO, I read on another board where you were told to erase all the codes but on a DDEC you cannot erase any of the critical codes 43,44,and 45 only the ones in the PROM (read only)the above codes are in the ECM and need to go to a dealer good luck on this (Message edited by luvrbus on February 19, 2009) |

Brian, All of the comments above are correct, except one needs a little further explanation. The DDEC does indeed compare oil pressure to engine speed, but it does this to decide when to "trip." It will be happy with 10 psi at idle, but not at 1500 rpm or so, its going to want to see at least 25 or 30 at that speed, and a little more at 2100 rpm. My suggestion would be to ohm the sending unit with the engine running. The reading should be high at idle, and drop as the pressure increases. I'm at a loss as to how you can keep the engine running with the oil pressure sender disconnected, which is part of why I said that all of the above posts were correct... What does the prolink show for pressures when you connect/disconnect the sender? G |

Never heard that those 3 codes couldn't be erased except from a dealer! That's a new one on me! Ace |

George, The pro-link shows 15 to 16 psi, but it does not vary with rpms, and no I can not unhook the sensor and keep the engine running. I will be trying the ohm test this weekend. Ace, I cleared all codes, and the pro-link now shows no active codes and no codes in history. |

Brian, what I would do, now that you have cleared everything off the ECM regarding codes is to start the bus as you would normally do and try to activate a code. If you can get the bus to shut down, you will know more at that time because it won't shut down without causing a shut down code! Read the code/s and let us know! It's always best to start fresh and know where your at rather than to hunt and search for something that may be already corrected such as old codes! Ace |

Ace, you can clear the codes from the PROM it is the codes in a DDEC memory that you can not erase it has to go to a dealer.I made the mistake one time and did not fill the oil filter on a oil change and the engine picked up the 45 code and after about a week with the PRO-LINK I gave up and took it to the DD shop 5 minutes and a little cash it was good to go he may need to do this good luck |
