Went to check oil levels before a trip and looked through the sight glass of the power steering reservoir and is cloudy. It has always been darkish in color just like motor oil. Anybody have ideas as to what it could have caused this? The steering works fine just gets a little stiff once in awhile.
Is my pump shot? Thanks.

I noticed a month ago that the level was low and added the prescribed oil type and now it is cloudy. I ruled out water because it is a closed system. Any other comments?

Could be incompatible oils. Saw it happen once. Stuff foamed right out the filler neck. Don't know what the mix was but it was a mess. Had to take the return off and keep pouring fresh oil in while turning the steering lock to lock until oil cleared up.
