Went out to the coach today to prep it for moving from the storage lot to the pad next to the garage. This is what I found: Yup, somebody's artwork, along with two new broken windows. PD took a vandalism report, but otherwise shrugged their shoulders. Can't do much w/ lot owner - written agreement is "park at your own risk". FWIW. . .

RJ, Sorry about your delema maybe some mineral spirits will remove that garbage, If not go to lowes, home depot or the local hardware store and get graffiti remover. I haven't found it to remove anything but that depending on the age of the artistic work. Good Luck Gomer |

Wouldn't you love to catch someone in the act of doing that? Maybe it's better that I don't. |

Methyl ethyl ketone is the best I have found to remove dried enamel; GOOD lacquer thinner (from a body supply dealer, not HD or Lowe's) is second. Good luck. |

"try oven off. It works on MC pin stripping. Mike" No, No, No,....The siding is aluminum, not stainless. Oven cleaner will eat it up. Len |

Our first 4104, I recall chasing a rock thrower just before he broke a window. Eventually we replaced side windows with tinted Lexan. |

I have tried all of the above to remove graffiti, and all of them damage the stuff you don't want to! Then I stumbled across this "Graffiti Go" at Walmart. Most eco-friendly stuff doesn't work, but this does! We used it to remove graffiti on vinyl siding and it didn't affect the vinyl, and simply pressure washed off. www.ecosolveamericas.com good luck! darn near anything that works will likely abrade the surface in the process of dissolving the grafitt0 pigments, and you may wish to amend that when your done.` ~ One thing I observed in the city , dealing with this often, remove it as soon as possible, before the next night, and when the young gafitti artists bring there buddies around to boast of there deed, you get to help them look like there full of crap to there the buds, and the problem self-remedies often. ~~ all markings are easier to remove in the first day before the paint or ink sets up & soaks in . ~~~Older stuff may also require steel wool or similar for abrasion on "porosus canvases" such as wood siding , concrete or brick. Got to love that Stainless Steel mci, IF ONLY you had used more of it then.~~~ >sure is funny watching this kind of nonsense on surveillance video in the course of "being responsible" for your own security. Seen a lot of crap & not much of was good crap like bus crap- >>IF ONLY not for those privacy laws, some of these moments in human stupidity would have made a fine & enlighting video for U-tube as to the motives for such behavior. >>>bus can't live with modern tech, nor live without<<< |

On real fresh graffiti, brake cleaner works if you catch it fresh enough, without much surface marking; use a soft rag and and catch the runoff as you flush with the brake cleaner aerosol. Something that should be on hand anyhow, next to the adhesive collection , as a prep cleaner before glueing. ... Always Protect yourself whole self well when using highly reactant toxins... |

I'm curious RJ, did you report it to the police? They may be able to identify the tagger. Never mind - I should learn to read the original post before saying anything. Len (Message edited by lsilva on August 30, 2009) |

You know, I think I will try to put a twist on this for me only. I think I will try find a group of young kids and inquire who of them is a good artist and see if they would be interested in painting some good graphics on our bus, (mine) that will be seen country wide when and if I ever get to travel. This should give them some sense of pride in showing off their talent instead of causing anger to someone that does not deserve it in the first place. I know,I know, I'm Naive!! I know I can't draw worth a hoot but some of these grafitti artist can. It may be a way of introducing them into a business that could be lucrative to them in the long run if they are interested. I agree in not wanting this to happen to me as it did RJ and also not sure of what my true actions would be if I caught someone doing that. I have a feeling I would need a lawyer, that is why I want to consider for myself now what I am mentioning here. I hope I still have this thought when ever I get to that point of graphics on the bus. It's worth considering to me if I was right now. Good Luck RJ, sorry again for your mess these guys or girls caused you. Gary |

98.7 % probability it was a "young she" that create this one , judging by the style and subject matter, most likely very early teens... the broken windows don't seem to be in keeping with the perpetrator though, must of been her younger sister getting bored with look-out duty. But that is just a rough guess based on a low quality picture... I was sure no-one want to know, so I though it appropriate to add this irrelevant info... ~the need to do 50 second parenting never ends~ |

Hi, RJ. I'm sorry to see that someone did a number on your coach. Have you had a chance to see if you can remove the grafiti, yet? I'm back in Kingman, again. The heat hasn't moderated much, yet. I've closed some deals that I will fill you in on when we get chance to visit. Sometime this winter, I think. Take care. RJ - I'm so sorry to see that the "Scum of the Earth" did this to your coach. My apologies for the late condolences, but I just made it back to the forum after a several month hiadus...Seeing this makes me want to 1) go check my coach right now - even thought it is in a "secure" storage facility with video survailance and 2) go check my lease agreement to see if I am "parking at my own risk" as well. Once again, so sorry for your troubles. :-( Josh |
