Hi All

Just got a call from Randy - he was on his way here to Daytona for BIKE Week -

His GMC 5302 & 6v92ta with C65 injectors broke down - Stuck injector - causing wide open throttle

he's safely off the road at I75 ext 11 pilot truck stop

The STUCK INJECT (already removed) - appears to be a Reliabuilt C65 with a D/D 390 number on it - He needs the part

I've put him in touch with Greg Pagica ( http://www.cruiser-magazine.com/Help_assist_data_base.html ) -

Anybody have an injector for him now OVER THE WEEKEND

He can do the repair - he JUST NEEDS THE PART

It's raining in Ga. - 4 guys in the bus - and a trailer full of Harleys

Randy's cell# - ...262..498.7878...

Pete it is great you are lending a hand here.

I have a couple of questions,
Does a stuck injector result in a loss in power ? Any other indications ?
I also assume that cylinder exhaust would be cold as well, but I would never think to look at that initially, I would be thinking dirty fuel filters.

Just trying to gain the knowledge that will assist me when I am in this situation.

Thanks much and enjoy the rainy Sunday ( eastcoast).

Also thinking albeit slowly today, The oil sump will be collecting this additional fuel, not good either.

Would this also be true?

Thanks guys.

IIRC - when an Injector fails - many times it hold the rack open (full throttle) ???

I'm not sure - perhaps someone else can enlighten us ??

I had not even thought about carrying spare injectors. Sounds like it might be a good idea. Would one need to carry replacements for EACH injector (eight in my case)?

THe other item needed will be the "pin" used to set the height of the injector.

There are at least 2 , so get the proper unit for your engine.

Only one injector is OK insurance , but a fist full of jumper tubing is also a good idea.

What would you need the jumper tubing for?

Fuel jumper tubing connects the injectors to the fuel supply. They are known to occasionally crack allowing diesel fuel into the oil. This is a "not good" situation. They can be changed easily after removing the valve cover. Jack
PS: If Jake brakes are installed, they require different fuel jumpers (to clear the Jake Brakes)
