I have been looking a number of different buses and factory coachs.

You can get 1, 2, 3, and even 4 slide outs now in the factory coachs. I was thinking when will someone come out with just two big slides. Front to back on both sides. Something like the trailer in the movie "Universal Soldier" with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Just think about the floor space that would add.

Have you seen Will Smiths rig? It is a 60' (I think) long trailer. Both sides slide out and the roof goes up. It was on TLC a while ago. Quite a rig. If memory serves, the price tag was just under 2M.

I saw a hospitality semi trailer at the 24 hours of Daytona that had two sides outs and the the roof raised in the back for a enclosed observation deck. The rest of the top was a open air observation deck. They had a large bay at the front of the trailer for a golf cart.

It had a color matched tent off one side and color matched skirt around that bottom that snap on. I think the guy spent most of the Friday polishing everything up.

There were many threads about this discussion several months ago. I don't remember if it was here or on MAK's board. You might check the archives for a bunch of opinions.

FWIW, my Eagle is in the shop having brake work done and the shop owner had a fellow in there who had rented a professionally converted coach from a firm in Nashville with one slide. He was paying $750 per day rental. He had to stop for some minor things to repair on his trip. While the bus was parked it came a south Texas downpour. The slide seals began leaking and pouring in water to the coach. The shop owner opened the mechanical area to the slide equipment and it had hydrolic oil leaking in numerous places. The slide seal was inflatable and would hold air for about 10 minutes. The rentee was so disgusted, he got in the bus and drove back to Nashville. Fun trip ;(

My vote is no slides. I can live with 8 feet.

Or we can just wait a little bit longer and get the new technology of "Y" space and "K" space which is kinda like hyperspace only you can add on all the extra room you desire only in another dimension or three. Kinda like the Arab's tent. He he he. Warp One Mr. Sulu! Thanks.

I currently have a Monaco coach with one slideout. It is only 18 inches deep but does add the FEELING of space but the only real practical gain is I can pass by the other half to get to the head when she is cooking. Although the slide has been no problem so far I feel that sooner or later anything that moves will fail. I love my coach but if I were to do it over again it would be a 40 foot non-slide instead of my 36 foot single slide. The manufacturers have about eliminated this choice in factory coaches other then conversions as none offer non-slide floor plans. I expect that single slide floor plans will be non existant soon also.
