The hook that holds my RTS outside mid panels in place have gone bad. I have some of the aluminum brackets to replace-re-inforce them. I want to use a good adhesive to hold them in place, am planning to bolt or rivet for that "just in case" factor. after hearing the stories about Sikaflex releasing on some of the buses where the outside panels were being held by only that adhesive, I am looking for something else. (And to think I know of people that have glued those heavy windows in with only Sikaflex! SCARY thought) The bus is stainless and the bracket is aluminum about 4" x 15". Just about all the area will be against the flat bus stainless metal. What are the alternatives to Sikaflex? -cd |

Hi CD... I screwed mine in with self tapping stainless steel screws....No glue for me there, material to hold in place is too heavy and too much vibration.IMHO...... a # 10 screw or larger 1" to 1 1/2" long should do fine......as many as you think you need I used 4 per panel.......... |
