I started out with high hopes of selling all the existing systems to help defray the cost of the conversion. If you live near a bus repair shop, and are really lucky enough to find they need any of the surplus, kiss the guy and take what you can get. I tried advertising all over the country, phoned every bus repair shop I could find a # for. Nobody wanted parts from an old Eagle.I finally made a deal with a local A/C shop. If he would recover the R-12 freon, he could have it, providing he would remove the entire bus A/C componants, and haul them away. Two guys worked for two days to get everything out. The compressor alone took them half a day to remove from its "hole". Thats the best deal I could make. I hope you have better luck. I felt lucky that I didn't have to remove that greasy mess myself, and then pay someone to haul it to the landfill. |
