My 04 has a bounce on the rightwheel.Dosn't do it all the time I'v had it balaced (on and off the bus), new king pins, tie rod ends etc. The tire is wearing on the outer edge. Could I need new shocks? |

Sure sounds like it,especially with uneven tire wear. Is the tire cupping or feathering evenly? Feathering tends to be alignment and cupping tends to be shocks or out of balance wheel. Peter. |

Ole Bill - I'm going to agree and possibly disagree with your suggestion. Bob needs to run his coach over a set of scales, loaded like he normally runs, including full fuel and fresh water tanks. After weighing, divide the front axle weight by two, and the rear axle weight by four. (Those with three-axle coaches, don't forget the tags!!) This will give the average weight being carried by each tire on it's respective axle. Suggest you add an additonal 100 lbs per tire as a "fudge factor", for the "stuff" that seems to accumulate on a trip. With the weight per tire, go to the tire manufaturer's website, or contact a dealer, and find out from the load/psi chart what the correct pressure should be for the weight being carried. Adjust pressures accordingly. ANY commercial tire dealer worth the tires he sells will tell you that this is the ONLY way to correctly inflate your tires for YOUR vehicle - and so will the manufacturer. So Ole Bill, you may or may not be correct - it all depends on what Bob's coach weighs!! HTH, RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |
