Hello Everyone!! Longtime lurker, first post. I searched but couldn't find this info. I am changing tranny fluid in V730, what's the best choice? Synthetic or not?

Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon!!!!! ALways go with synthetic when you can. rear end, wheel bearings trannies, etc. I found that a DD consumes more oil that it would warrant to do it with synthetic. Synthetic runs cooler and lubs much better than petrolum[?] oil does. It is a little pricery than convential oil but pay for itself over time and leessss wear on components.

The latest GM spec Dexron is darn near synthetic. I'd use it if it were mine.

Busnuts have reported approximately 10 degree Farenheit lower operating temps for their transmissions on synthetic over traditional oils.

Since heat is what primarily kills transmissions, sounds like an excellent choice to me!!

happy coaching!
