I am trying to come up with an easier solution for my adult children and quests to sleep in the coach other than on the floor, couch and dinette. Has anyone seen any of these beds available for mc9's. I believe Custom Coach at one time built these for some of their conversions.

...a pull out couch bolted in is a simple solution if there is still room in your conversion.
A tent outside works for noisy kids even when they get really big . There is the old air mattress in the baggage bay; but then where would the cargo sleep safe & dry ?

I am actually just beginning a remodel to the lounge area of the coach so anything is possible. I want to change out the driver and passenger seats, couch, and dinette. All suggestions welcome. Last season we put new floors down, wood flooring in the bedroom, kitchen and lounge and tile in the steps and bathroom. This coach is owned and shared with my brothers and sister so the maintenance costs are shared by four families. None of us use it enough to fully utilize it and it sure makes taking care of it easier on the wallet.

Anyone know of a source for couches that convert into bunks? I have seen them in several coaches but the only ad I see them commercially available is from europe.

Didn't quite use the right wording. A couch that converts to bunk beds. I am trying to find a couch that allows sleeping for two but does not take up more floor space when converted for two sleeping spaces. Thanks

I think you are on the right track with the overhead collapsible bunks. It uses space that would otherwise be wasted and getting beds up will not disrupt the floor plan as much at night.

Ours has a bunk above the driver that collapses up and we love it. I unfortunately have no info or paperwork for it.

Let us know how your search turns out.

Piano hinges and a bit of foam (depending on thickness, not cheap) mounted to 3/4 inch plywood and affixed by HD folding brackets or substantial cable enclosed in plastic tubing....or chain...would work just fine...depending, of course on the size of the person(s) occupying the "slab". Could be made to various widths if necessary. Heavy duty folks would require heavy duty thinking and ...construction. :-)

There was a song once...I think Sinatra sang it... "Imagination, it's funny......". :-) Let it run...and if you need a drawing, just imagine a window height, folded to the wall,(or less than window height)...and one above. which, to make a close to the wall fold, would need to be at least the width to which it would be folded....if you understand what I am trying to convey.

Joe camper, I have been looking at the bed/couch that you have pulled up. Those look promising if they will fit in the space I have available. Thanks Karl

When I found out the cost I DID fall out of my chair.

4995.00 shipping included.

I bet they are flying out of the warehouse at that price.

Karl -

The front-wheel drive GMC Motorhome (built from '73 - '78) had a convertible couch that became twin bunk beds.

The backrest swung up, and was attached to the ceiling with, basically, seat belts! Very, very slick idea, and way ahead of it's time.

Here's a link to the only pic I could find of the set-up. You can just barely see the seat belt straps holding it up

http://www.interworkssoftware.com/gmc4sale/bunkbed.htm

Here's a pic of the bunk beds in the sofa position:

Joe Camper, at that price they are going to have to do a lot more than ship it to me. That's nuts.

Rjlond, Thanks for the link, I may check with them on the gmc type.

Ikea has a few neat sofa beds. I like the TYLÖSAND and KARLSTAD models.
