My rear view camera has gone bad on my bus and I am looking at replacements. Does anyone here have any personal experience with supercircuit cameras on their coach? I have used them for security in my business both inside and out but have yet to try one in a mobile application. The price is right on many of the possible choices. I am looking at a pc161 ir-2 at 80.00. Any feedback welcome.

I can't help you with your question. I bought my system from RV Cams . com Maybe they have something that would work for you. They are great to deal with and would buy again in a heartbeat!

Karl,

I've purchased several cameras, recorders, and quad units from Supercircuits. Fast service and everything worked fine.

The PC161IR-2 looks like a fine camera at http://www.supercircuits.com/produc/pc161ir-2
But the case and mount really don't have that rugged look I like in an outdoor mobile camera.

As you may know, Supercircuits dropped their standard "RV backup" camera about two years ago.

I purchased 4 of these cameras from Steve at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3 A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp3907.m37.l1313%26satitle%3D25031327140 3%26category0%3D%26fvi%3D1&item=250313271403&viewitem=

It has a very good color resolution, heavy glass lens, 120 degree field-of-view, auto everything, is heavy gauge aluminum with multiple locking mount, and comes with 65 feet of video/audio/power cable for $20.00 more.

I have no connection with this guy except he sells a very quality product for a more than reasonable price.

I purchased a remote backup cameraan monitor at Sams club $99.98 the next week it was on sale at Auto Zone OR Advance for $69.99. I installed it at the top of the bus, pulled all my old wires, installed the remote in the bedroom, use a hot wire and switch near monitor to turn it on. It's color but has alinethat moves down like old tv's had sometimes, good resolution great vewing angle, monitor is 8X5, screen is 7 diagonal 1 inch thick, camera normally mounts on regular plate, but I used it up high, no cover needed.
