So sorry for being way too scattered, plus having very limited access to I-net... gone are the days when I could just plop down and say "hello! I'm here!" every now and then. But I was able to read some of your posts regarding me - and other posts too (curiosity won out) but it always takes me forever to post for myself, so I just accumulated stuff to share with you guys - so this thing will be much longer than your attention (interest) span, I'm sure. But since I have a very slow and limited I-net connection, here goes - just think of it like a boring book, the kind you read to fall asleep (hey, beats having insomnia, right?). Bottom line, I'm still alive, and doing my best to realize my dream... cause "you can say I'm a dreamer... but I'm not the only one..." I sure hope there's still a place for dreams on this planet, but if not, I'll create one, end of friggin' story. Anyway, that's my track and willing to eat my socks if necessary (tasty, I've heard, with plenty of pesto and a dash of Tabasco). But socks or no, I'd definitely rather be right here chasing my dream than stuck in a dreamless reality. Now THAT really sucks. Or am I just going though some kind of a 'mid-life crisis'? Aw, heck, isn't that what life really is, one big continual crisis? Like a fellow (George), who is very spiritual, told me a couple days ago: "You wanna really mess up your week? Just tell your plans to God." On to the bus: when I left Howard's place, more than a month ago already... I went to 'Mr. Johnson's' garage. What a mechanic that guy is, amazing, hope I could carry him around with me. Mr. Johnson (301-773-5534; 4500 S Street, Beaver Hgts., MD 20743) got my clutch better, well, the knob is now loose, but some other adjustments need to be done. He told me the bus was yet drivable the way it was, and since it was already 7:00pm, I decided to 'hit the road' and get to Nethers, VA, which is about an hour North of Charlottesville. So I drove down here and haven't touched the mechanical part of the bus since. I really needed to focus on music and finding ways to make money. Well... actually, yesterday I meant to move the bus so I can throw some tarps under it, and, surprise, when I hit the breaks, there's an air leak, and if I try to get the emergency break off, the leak is even bigger. I talked with Ralph on the phone about it and he gave me some input, probably a valve that got stuck. I'll attend to that later today and do my best to get that valve working again. Lucky it didn't happen down the road, gee... at least I'm in no rush to fix that, but for now, no way to move the baby... Second, the CDs I promised: when I posted in January to ask for help and promised a CD to those who would help me out, I thought I would be here, close to Charlottesville, within two weeks, which turned out to be close to three months, gee... When I left Quebec, I had only around 20 CDs duplicated and I got more copies done lately. Now that I'm settled for a while, I sure will attend to my promise and hope you guys will understand. It's been in my mind every day, you know that kind of thought you have when you hit the sac and is still there when you wake up? I am really sorry for the delay, and I will attend to it very soon. Ian is supposed to send me the address list, he's quite busy on his side too... love ya buddy!! Meanwhile I've recorded some songs with a baseman, and I intend to include a copy of the best songs we did in the package so maybe you can pardon me for being so late on my 'schedule', damn, I have no schedule actually, to tell you the truth, but my time is now devoted mostly on finding gigs and doing some landscaping. I feel really bad about all of this. I know I should have attended on putting these CDs in the mail long ago, but you know, I'm still on some kind of a survival mode. I'm definitely not as panicked as I was when I left the 'frozen toundra', I'm working my way out a step at a time, but I feel like I should have gone ten steps when only one's been done... well, at least I'm going forward!!! Third, got some work! Nothing big, but a good start. I've played different venues, mostly to audition, and had a very good response from the people. The hic is that most restaurants are booked a month ahead, so, gotta wait on many of them to happen. Besides, the landscaping I'm doing right here in Nethers helps to make some little $, and am looking forward to get more gigs and get more recordings done, with a band this time (I have an invitation in a professional studio to trade flute lessons and flute tracks against some recordings for myself). There are other little towns around that I want to hit and see what happens. As it is now, I cannot leave this place until I put some $ together to pay some bills and have something aside, plus that clutch will need more attention before I hit the road. I thought I'd have seen half of the States by now (!), gosh... I'm very happy though, don't get me wrong. The weather is nice, the bus is safe, and I'm living in it, at least sleeping in it, lots of things are happening, not as fast as I thought (as usual) but I'm making some progress every day, that's the main thing. There's a lot to say and not enough time to write. The weather is so nice out here, it drives me nuts! April and May are like July for me, actually a couple weeks in July. I feel like I just got out of a cage, I have to adapt to this new world. I'm out there, working on some bushes that needs attention, or something similar, and the day pass by, and then I'm as tired as a dog that ran for a whole day (without permission),then shows up at night, eats and crashes. I know, I know, I'm out of topic, I should be writing about bus stuff and keep my personal life for some 'blog' out there, but being myself, I can't help it breaking rules, plus I owe you guys more than you think. Actually, I ain't breaking any rules since my bus is now the extention of myself, so it's kinda part of me, right? I can live with you being upset about me for that I didn't yet fulfill my promise (about the CD), cause I'm the one knowing what I'm going through, and it's up to me to let you know what's going on. I sure don't want to repeat the same mistake again and end up being stuck on the road because I didn't have enough $ to take care of myself. I took the risk once, got stuck, learned my lesson, and you helped me out, thank God, when I was really despaired, but now, I'll take whatever time it takes to put some $ together before getting to some other place. Love you all, Nellie |

"Progress -- our most important product" (but you're too young to remember that -- I think it was the GE advertising slogan on some old TV show when I was young.) Hang in there, kid, and follow those dreams. |

just remember your earning "bread" for two now, you & the bus, "hard to live with them , but don't want to live without them", especially when it is the roof over my head" Seems the main things often boils down to "surviving pleasantly". |

Ha! Ha! Buswarrior, You're giving me good inspiration here! I'll write these titles down, they're real good, and a good title is half a song already (well, let's be more precise, it contains the whole song in a few words). Bill, That's exactly my thinking, just go forward, one thing at a time, and keep the faith. I must say I really have that gypsy feeling from my toenails to my hair. Live one day at a time with what God brings and be thankful for being alive and healthy and happy . Craig, I sure will give you a call soon. I've been working all day on a submission for a water garden project that I hope will happen (I love building these ponds & waterfalls, BTDTGTT, abbrev. version for: been there done that, got the T-shirt!). Which means too that I didn't get to the damn post-office... shoot... Still got some work to do, but I thought a 'busnut break' would be kinda fun. Clint, I must say I sure am surviving pleasantly. I sometimes wish that my baby would need only as much food as I do *sigh*! Well, well, we've gotten to be ol' buddies now and we accept each other's caprice... Bruce, "Progress -- our most important product" (but you're too young to remember that-- ) I don't know if I'm too young, but I know that we listened only to French TV stations... right there, no chance for me to have heard anything about that... I am sure though that 'progress' is responsible for the busnut community to have happened! Thank you, my friends for your comments, I sure appreciate. It's nice to be back on line (even though I'm dealing with a turtle-net)! BTW, I've spent some time on Ace's poem to turn it to a song... it's coming! BTW2 I sure don't think at this point that we'll put a busnut CD together for next Xmas... but it's still a project I want to attend to on the way, whichever this way is, I want to get that going and sell maybe a million of them, to be modest...! BTW3 I desperately want to attend to the Bus Rally in FL 'round Xmas & New Years. Maybe I'll end up carrying my bus on my back to do so... sure hope not! BTW4 Didn't try anything on that clutch today... God bless you all, gentlemen and ladies, Nellie |

Nellie, If you can get down here to Rally, we can pay you to perform one night and cover your camping/rally fee. The rally is from December 29 through January 1 with early arrivals PK beginning on December 26. We also have some hook-ups at our place if you need a place before or after the rally. Jack, I definitely want to be there and play some music, it sounds like so much fun. Thank you so much for the invite. I should have time to get my rig together by then since I don't have to fight against the cold as I used to. Niles, Question: what does LMOA stand for?? I first thought 'laugh my *ss off' but it doesn't work... would need to be LMAO...or is it a 'typo'?? Ian, I love you (FWIW) . Nellie |

Jack - Just because you've corrected it, doesn't mean you've changed the meaning - at least to those that are under 20!

just got your cd's nellie, i will give them a spin when leigh ann gets back. hey if you make it down here i will take you by my friend dans water feature. i hve never in my life ever seen anything like it and the best part is that i can turn my back on my 18 month old while she is playing over there and when i turn around she is not in any danger. words cant describe how neat and safe this waterfall is. you would have to see it. it is like a magic trick for those of us that love water gardening. (been building ponds since i was 14) |
