On my trip to Branson last month I experienced an air leak from time to time but could not locate. After compressor cut out, pressure dropped steadly until cut in in about 3 minutes. Everytime I stopped to listen for leak, it stopped. Then wouldn't come back until next morning. Finally discovered it yesterday. Stopped in large level parking lot. Did not set brakes and buddy went out and heard it, even over the engine, under the drive axle area. Carefully, crawled under bus (with wheels chocked) and located leak on DD-3, left side. Put my finger over hole on chamber (exhaust port?) and stopped leak. I was able to hold back air with finger with only minor pressure build against my finger. Had buddy set parking brake, then release same. Heard air escaping, probably from both left and right side for few seconds then stopped. Leak gone. Cycled brakes, both parking and service, several times leak stayed gone rest of day. My first thought was leaking diaphram, but leak should not stop then, right? More likely lock port supply leaking past locking port ring somehow. It was unusually cold in Branson and on way home, and was cold yesterday. Is this just another symptom of not driving the bus enough? Is there a rebuild kit? Or should I just purchase rebuilt unit? Seems that I should not begin to disassemle without new parts to install.
