I'm putting in a new flooring and keeping the bus heat. In front of the two main holes the heat comes up though near the front, are vent type thingy-b-bobs that come out of the floor and into the wall. What are they for and can I get rid of them? What are all the other smaller holes in the floor that are along the side? What was the wire for that run along the inside of the base heat?

The vent thingy-bobs, if you follow them, correspond to the small holes on the exterior of the coach. This is to help provide about a 20% fresh air intake to the OEM HVAC unit.

If the wire you're talking about in the wall base/floor ducting is the one that has several terminals to the interior of the coach, that's the wire that powered the underseat safety night lighting. Should be on both sides, alternating down the sides.

Some of the small holes were exhaust vents, some were intake.

the units that go from the floor to the wall can be removed. you have to cut the wall side and unscrew the floor side. you can seal up the wall side. that hole brings in fresh air from the outside. the floor side needs to stay open. put a floor grill over that one.the holes nest to the wheel wells also need a floor grill. so when all done you will have 4 holes with grills on the floor. these are the units air intake.
thats what i did on my 5c.
