yes, count me in! I will be happy to come meet other people with buses! keep in mind july 4th weekend is also the Rainbow Gathering this year in Taos NM. might be a good idea to not have it that week, as some people may be interested in that gathering as well (or is that too young/hippie for this crowd?) |

the dates you suggest are pretty much at the top of the temperature range for this area. Lake Mead, which grand canyon drain down to, often reach 115F in those months. getting there would pose some hesitation, given the route you would take (I-15 from california, kingman-laughlin run) both has a mighty tall grades, which a fully loaded bus might has problem climbing in hot weather. might be better to attack them hills early morning or late night ... once there, it would be a good idea to find somewhere with some altitude to get away from the heat. I think north rim can be cooler, but I can find out next time I drop by the arizona visitor center, they are pretty knowledgeable about the surrouding area climates... --- oops, just google earthed grand canyon caverns, it's way out near seligman. not exactly on the rim, but it's at 5000' so would be a little cooler... --- I just realized that it's near inside Hualapai Indian nation. I am familiar with Peach Springs nearby and of course the grand canyon skywalk. I highly recommend against having a stay nearby. Lot of ripoffs, not just by bored teenagers, but also the tribal establishment. if you read up on the experience re: skywalk, you would know what I mean. We can't make it, but Ft. Tuthill County Fairgrounds just south of Flagstaff is a good spot |

I did make it up to the Ft Tuthill coconino Fair Grounds looks resonable, but would be tight for some of the bigger coaches.Cost looks resonable |

I called the Caverns and never did receive a amount for the daily camp fees but she thought it was around 30.00 a night too much for a dry camp for me. so count me out at the caverns. Larry H think we will leave Eugene around the 25th of July and head south East. |

In case this is not well-known here, the Grand Canyon Caverns are co-owned (last I checked) by fellow bus-nut Mike Kadletz, former owner of Bus Conversions Magazine (BCM) and the BCM BBS. After he acquired his interest in that property, he moved the long-standing (but now defunct) annual BCM rally to that venue. It probably would not hurt to give Mike a call (562 972 2158) and ask if he would be interested in giving y'all a break on rates to have your rally there. He might be interested in that from the standpoint of promoting the parts of the business I think he still owns -- Moose Creek MotorCabins, and MAK bus sales. Just a thought. -Sean http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com |

Luverbus, Haven't decided where were going yet waiting to find information if this gathering was going to happen or not. Probably find a park around Flagstaff or Williams if we will be on our own. But am open to anyplace in that area that is under 100. Larry |
