I still have the large, stock steering wheel in my coach. I'd like to upgrade it to something smaller in diameter. Anybody know of anything out there that's compatible, or a conversion kit? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Gerry |

Gerry Do you have powersteering? If not, I would suggest keeping It from a safety perspective. Joe. |

VIP makes leather wrapped steering wheels in different designs and diameters; some are quite handsome. Also, some 4905,s have smaller wheels by about 2 inches. Manual steering does effect the turning effort quite a bit, although some 4104's had rather large ones. |

Probably I wouldn't recommend going more than 2 inches smaller in diameter. Here is the site: http://www.vipwheels.com/index.htm |

What size is it? condition? what is it made of? I might be interested in buying it or trading my 18" leather wrapped wheel for it. It has an MCI center cap but you could maybe change it or make a new one just like i would do for yours. :>) |

Yes, I do have power steering...I shudder at the thought of manual steering...probably would need a cheater bar! I'll have to measure it and take a picture. Seems like it could be made of a bakelite material (it is from 1957). I'll let you guys know. Thanks! |

A bakelite steering wheel would bring more on Ebay than a complete bus. |

Gerry just keep in mind that if your power steering was to fail you would have to drive the bus as if it was manual steering when picking a smaller wheel. Dave L |

Gerry just so you know, that if you are ever involved in an accident with your coach even if it is some one rear ending you and a smart adjusteer finds out that you down sized your steering wheel be prepared to pay big time as it is not an engineered swap out and you will have no paper work on it. just ask your self why they have such a big steering wheel in the freight trucks????????????? |

On my last trip my power steering got air bound 'cause I changed an O ring before leaving & didn't get all the air. Went to zero power steering assist! It was fine going down the highway but turning into gas stations etc, I wished I had a 4 foot wheel! Renew it but don't change smaller. Just my opinion. |

You don't say what kind of bus you have but if it is a 4104 I agree with Jim. I would not own one without some kind of power steering. Life is too short!! |
