Over on a boat board a gent asked,

""Could anyone provide me with a ball-park cost of a quality in-frame rebuild (head, injectors, pistons, liners, hoses, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.) for two 1984-vintage 4-valve 6-71Ts? The turbos and exhaust collectors are brand new, so don't figure in the rebuild cost. The engines are located under the cockpit sole, so working conditions are relatively easy with the cockpit covers off. The vessel is located in Newport Beach, CA.""

***I think he needs a ball park on the hours for this , the lifting (can't get to the bottom of a boat engine with out lifting )and rehookup and shaft alignment would be extra.

ALSO,

Also does any one have an opinion on a
" 104 HP Waukesha 6 cyl diesel?

Parts ? Service life?

Thanks !

I was wondering if you are still teaching folks the art of conversion. I think I saw somewhere where you do some jobs and have classes on other topics. I'm in the Orlando area so I'm not that far and was curious.

Sorry ,
You have me mixed up with another Fred , Fred Hobie.

He has a shop about 1/2 inch from the GA line and does take novices under his tutalige at times.

Great welder & always a fun visit to see "His Way".

At times he posts over on the MAC attack board , you can probably reach him there.
