I have accepted a position at Buckley AFB, and need suggestions as to where I can find a place to park our coach, and live in it for a couple of months while we look for a permanent place to stay. Anybody out there that can help me out? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for answering Larry. Buckley was changed from an ANG base to an AFB in 2001. Since then a lot of changes have taken place. When I asked the Services Squadron about a fam camp, they said they will be breaking ground in August for a new center, and that they do not have any accommodations at present.

See if any of these would be able to accomodate you.

If you're willing to commute 50-60 minutes check out Loveland RV Resort
http://www.lovelandrvresort.com/)
We're fulltiming there and it's great. Easy access to I-25/E-470

Thanks Bill and Jim. It looks like the KOA at Strasburg is going to be my best choice. It's a twenty-five mile drive one way, but an easy drive. Loveland is just a little too far, and a tough commute during rush hour. I did the google search and the only two candidates close enough sounded good, but when I asked a couple of folks about the addresses, they told me to stay away because they are both in pretty rough neighborhoods. I do have a couple of people at Buckley who are looking for me, but they said there was slim pickings when it came to rv reorts close-in to Aurora. Thanks again!

Oft times the local Mobile Home Parks will allow large vehicles for longer stays. There used to be some of those close to Buckley....look West toward
Denver....the old Fitzsimmons area maybe.

Darrell
I have stayed at the Strausburg KOA many times. It is okay, nothing special but clean, very close to I-70 (1 block) so sometimes noisy but Strausburg is a very small town. I don't know the name of it but there is a very large mobile home park on the south side of I-70 nearer to Denver than Strausburg just east of I-670 (toll road from DIA around east and south side of Aurora). From the road it looks okay but I haven't been in it so can't say.
HTH, We will be going to the mountains in late July and can get more information for you then if that will help. Also, there is a busnut that lives not to far from there but can't pull his name out right now.
