Also wanted to say a big thank-you to all of you, if it wasn't for your help I'd still be pulling my hair. You all have made my dream possible, and if I have any big problems I'll cuss you guys then , ha ha just kidding | ||

Thanks for all of your unconditional support! We have made the trip and are back home. Wish we weren't , had a great trip. Fuel mileage was surprisingly good, the old 8V didn't use nor leak more than a quart of oil in the 300 miles we put on her. The power steering was a concern before we left as there is a leak, I did find the filter was very dirty before we left , so I simply cleaned it and it all worked flawlessly, didn't add any oil. Two things that happened which were minor was in Porter Indiana I took a hard right into a fuel stop and thats when I learnt that the steering stopper bolt was broken and was a little shorter than it should be. The tire cut the bottom chamber of the air bag. The compressor did keep up, so I called MCI and they sent a air bag to the campground we were staying at in the London, On area. We made it up there on half of a air bag. Fed Ex came brought the air bag and we replaced it. Then on the way home I had a battery go bad. No big deals, It was a great trip. Three more weeks and we're off to Sturgis. Can't wait, my wife doesn't think I'm so crazy now either!!! I'll try to get a few pics over the next day or 2. Thanks again for all of your support, it helps give a guy enough balls to go do some of ones dreams. I like what BW say, it's the jouney not the destination. However it was great to see some of our friends and family we hadn't seen in years with our having to burden anyone , including ourselves with accomdations. Grant | ||

Grant, Our first trip was a bit over 3000 miles and we had only a couple of minor problems so I wouldn't worry too much. There are always a few minor problems with these old buses but not usually anything serious. Your bus is a lot newer than mine! Relax and enjoy the trip. Each one is an adventure!! | ||
