Does anybody have experience with installing a Peninsula drivers window in a 4104? Any problems with leaks, wind noise or quality? Thanks. |

Roger - not a 4104, but I *just* finished installing 10 peninsula windows in my MC9. I haven't had any leak problems yet, but have only had a little bit of rain to test with. Won't know about wind noise for a while, since my bus is immobile right now. But I haven't heard any complaints on either score (leaking or noise). As far as quality and service, I think they're tops. The windows were built exactly to spec, with 1/16" tolerances. The material and workmanship appear to be excellent. I BROKE the last window I was putting in -- literally dropped it as I was shimming it into place. I was MAJOR depressed about it (inches from the goal line and I fumbled!!! ;-0 ) I called Peninsula and they shipped me new glass (which they had to cut, send out for tempering, and join together (dual panes)), plus the other materials needed to fix the window, in FOUR DAYS! at their expense. The shop assembler walked me through the steps of fixing the window, and I was back in business with NO out of pocket expense! I call that great service! HTH, John |

Roger, we have installed Peninsula replacement windows throughout our 4104. There is still some wind noise, but I suspect not particularly from the windows. The bus is 1959 so it probably has some nooks and crannies where the wind gets in, like at the door hinge for example, and I know it doesn't fit closely at the bottom of the door. No leaks in the windows, though. Quality is very good, and it's nice to have the sliding screens as well. |

I installed the drivers and pax door stuff from Peninsula and think its trash. Looks like stuff built in the first course of Junior high sheet metal shop. Does virtually nothing for air flow underway, except make a load of noise , with no air flow. Am activly seaking the 4104 windows to replace this crap with. Think I found a drivers unit , still looking for the Pax door. Kept the stock 4106 side windows , but modified them with screens , and removes the stops for bigger openings. Warm shades have 5X the insulating power of "dual pane" windows at 1 /10 the price. FAST FRED |

Roger, The Pennisula windows do have the name recognition. I looked at them and Storm-Tite very closely. Have to say I choose Storm-Tite for an $800.00 savings (they are in Canada). Cheaper shipping, too. I am very happy with them. They have a website, so suggest you take a look. Only problem, you won't be able to list "Pennisula windows" in your ad when you sell it. (I never see Storm-Tite or Hehr listed as an "extra"). FWIW Steve G. |
