Hi, its me again
I have a curious question, nothing bus shaking.
The bus starts well in the summer, no hesitation, hit the button and she is running.
- HOWEVER, when it gets cold, I hit the button and nothing...... I have a Generator Stop light (I think this is up everytime I start untill the rpms are up) and a Low Oil Light (I know this is from the oil getting cold). Now, I looked into the manual and I can't see where the LOW OIL would prevent starting, of course, my eyes are getting a bit dim these days. Anyone care to hazard an idea why she wont start??
- Thanks cd

What kind of genset do you have? I know that the low oil sensor on older generacs will kill the ignition- perhaps on other makes as well...

It is normal for both to be on before start. Low Oil will shut it down, but on time delay, usually 20 seconds on the motorguard circuit. No Gen will not prevent start or cause shut down. I'm guessing bad batteries or cables or connections, but just a 1st guess. I'm presuming it won't crank over. If it does, then fuel delivery or compression, or lack thereof.

Cory- which bus and engine? What voltage? Most low oil lights are for warning only, though it could be wired through a relay to stop the engine also. The gen stop switch is probably the genset shut down, and has nothing to do with he coach engine. Get back to us with more info for a better answer. Cheers...JJ

Cory, are you asking about the bus engine, or about your genset?

Hi all
I am talking about the bus Engine... not a genset.

I talked to someone last night, he said neither will prevent the engine from turning over. Suggested that my shifter neutral switch might be a little quirky, to try moving it. What cha think?? cd

Cory, if you are pushing on the start toggle switch and nothing is happening look at your 24v gauge on the dash and see if it drops when you hit the toggle. That will tell you if an juice is going to your starter, if the gauge doesn't move at all then yes, wiggle the shift selector and check the rear start switches. If the gauge drops with the toggle check the batteries and switches and then the starter. If that doesn't do it then get back to us when you narrow it down.
