Hey everyone, we're a traveling family bluegrass band with an '83 MC-9 coach conversion. It's currently got a DD 8V71 engine and a Fuller 5 speed manual tranny. The engine gets about 6.5 mpg and the tranny works great. Unfortunately I'm the only one that can drive the bus because of the intricacies of shifting without clutch. We'd like to get better fuel efficiency for the tens of thousands of miles we drive so I've been talking with our diesel mechanic about an engine swap. He's got some ideas on a combined engine and tranny change so we're looking to get something for the existing ones. If anyone has a need for one or both, please holler back. Thanks for your time!
