I have seen the Craine led flash light ,

not bad 3 C cells and 7 LED , but for $60.00?

There has got to be a lots cheaper source.

Fred - Check Backwoods Solar, they have some LED flashlights that seem to be reasonablely priced.

And check Ebay to see what is new. These flashlights are just coming of age and there is a new one every day, and the ultra bright LED prices seem to be coming down. So, I agree with Fred, don't throw big money at one. There was a 4 LED white flashlight on Ebay for about $10 and shipping.

Fred, Check EMS for one of the the Petzl headlights. I have one with 3 AAA and 3 LEDs. Works great ! If you were still here in CT I'd have you go to Country Sports in Canton to check out Greg's display. Sure you don't want to come back North ?

Fast Fred
Take a ride to Palmetto on Dec 7 or 8 to the hamfest at the civic center and you will find a some good sources for the led flashlights. Some are great and built in Naples. Mike

Since CT has 8 or 9 inches of SNOW , I think I'll take a pass.

But Palmetto sounds interesting , maybe I can sell my new Icom from boating days .

In the old days ICOM found their ham sets were selling to folks with no interest in amateur radio.

On checking they found most purchasers were having the "blue wire" cut (that limited the frequencies that the set could transmitt on).

And simply using it on Marine Ship to shore frequencies.

There response was to make the "Blue Wire" about a foot long so it could be easily found.

Don't ya love Mfg. that take their customers seroiusly?

FAST FRED
