I have noted through the years on this board that a lot of bus nuts have old cars classics and street rods and resto rods Would anyone like to get together and have a bus meet and cars. We could pick a place to meet (like Quartzsite, AZ in winter that has bus meets and a car show end of Jan) that would satisfy every one. I live in Lake Havasu City, AZ. I personaly have a 50 Cadillac conv basic original driver, a 34 Dodge Bros coupe resto rod that I just finished, and a 38 Packard conv, that is very rough but restorable. Any one interested e-mail me and see what we can get going.

It is amazing how certain groups of people tend to have the same interests or is that sickness :-)
On the automotive side I have a 1968 E-Type Jaguar and have contemplated some type of early ford hotrod with a runmble seat for the kids

It is something, I have a 1983 Merc Capri Crimson Cat 5.0, 4speed. This was Capri when near Mustang, coming off Mustang assembly line from 79 to 86, 85% Mustangs and 15% Capri's.
Do love older cars from Model A's on up, also hot rods.

I'm not in the west, but I would be interested sometime. I have 72 Dodge Challenger that has had all the bodywork and mechanical work done. I'm hoping to get it reassembled before the fall. I also have a 1950 Austin A-40 Devon four-door sedan, a 1969 Fargo A-120 window van, a 1952 Fargo one-ton long box (9 ft) pickup and a never winter driven 1989 Fifth Avenue. I am planning to put a Dodge V-10 pickup drive train in the 52 Fargo.

I also would like car and bus meets. My 1955 pontiac just won the oldest single-owner pontiac at the Fairfield County 2009 Coucours Show.

www.fairfieldcountyconcours.com

I also collect old motorcycles and british cars mostly mga and b cars and bsa, triumph and vellocette bikes.

I am just finishing a 1937 ford flatback and I hate to say this,nawh, IT IS GEORGOUS. I have a shop that I do this in and when it is finished it is sold and going to South Carolina. Then I will be putting a Stupid KIT car together and I hate them. Nothing fits as they say and you have to remake a lot of parts,but it's all about MONEY$$$$. How much do you want to spend uh uh. If anybody needs some parts let me know and I will see if I can round some up.

The idea about bus/car show sound great and if it were a little closer here I would be there!!

How about posting some pictures of all of these you speak of! I want to take another ride down memory lane!

All we have is a 94 Lincoln Town Car that is close to as new as you get, our 68 Silver Eagle 01. I've owned a 1960 Bug Eye Sprite (favorite), 1941 Dodge PU with 283/350, disk on the front, (second favorite), 41 Plymouth, 66 Spitwad, 60 BSA 650, and numerous other toys. Wish I had 'em all back!

My old stuff, besides the '53 4104-204:
There's me...1954 white boy
1968 MGB
1955 Fordomatic Customline (I'm the 2nd owner, my Great Aunt sold it to me for $1.00 back in 1970 when I turned 16. 63,000 miles and all original...but needs a revamp)
1976 Harley-Davidson FLH, completely rebuilt (and a 2003 HD RoadKing)
1974 Yamaha DT-400 (mine)
1975 Yamaha DT-250 (Momma's)
1974 Honda CB 125-S (Momma's)
1948, 1954, & 1964 Woodie Lightning sailboats that I'm restoring in my shop.
1968 & 1972 Fiberglass Lightnings that I'm racing.

Wow, time to get rid of some of my stuff, eh? Didn't even mention my 1955 wife. She's a keeper for sure...

I had a 68 Roadrunner that i sold for $400......if only i had known!!!! At the time i was lucky to get that for it. Over the years we have had a 59 Bugeye Sprite, a 80 MGB, a 79 Alfa Romeo, a 67 Camero, a 71 Triumph TR 6, and a 66 Mustang Convertible. Right now we have a 59 Ford shortbed, (not the stepside ) pickup, with a 302, and a 62 Triumph TR-4 with a 289 and C4 tranny. Kinda sorta have them up for sale but have mixed feelings about selling them.....probably get more serious about it in a few years when i fully retire and we don't want to be tied down to "stuff" that doesn't fit in with our plans.

The newest car I have is my '84 Mercedes 300D Turbodiesel with 337,000 miles on it with the original engine and transmission.

Also have a '79 Olds Cutlass 5.7 Diesel (4th engine in it, but its a good one). Changed from the Turbo 200 metric transmission to the Turbo 350-best change very reliable.

My oldest car that my Dad bought new is the '63 Ford Falcon 2 door Sedan originally with a 260 and 2 spd automatic, now 302 with 351 heads and 4 spd.

Then there is my '77 AMGeneral 10240B transit that's converted that I'm using.

And finally, my 1985 Kenworth K100E 90" Aerodyne cabover that I'm converting into a 40ft motorhome. Lots of toys. Good Luck, TomC

2002 Z06 red vette, hotter than a two dollar pistol, Harley 93 Heritage Classic and a 42 Harley WLA that came out of Manila and was probably ridden by Jap troops in WW2. 53 Chev PU in pieces, a John Deere lawn Mower with a 350 Chevy engine, Ford 31 Tudor street rod with 302 ford and top loader four speed, Chopper in pieces. A fleet of John Deere tractors from parade ready to rusting boat anchors, and hit and miss engines. I once saw a banner in a hangar I was visiting it said " when the world ends the guy with the most toys wins". Maybe not true but at least I tried. At almost seventy I can no longer keep it all running and must face up to the fact that it needs to go. Growing old is really not for sissys. Come and visit and take something home with You! 1988 Cabriolet VW...just had it painted. Looks good, runs good; have kept it as original as possible.

Have no idea how many miles..odometer shows 246,000+ and I have had it since 2004. Original paint and top were in fair to good condition. Have replaced top. Engine strong, cosmetics good, except I have now "worn out" upholstery on driver seat. Can't find the original pattern so no sure what I want to do to sort that out. Balance of seats, carpet, etc in great shape.

It is a California car...would guess a commuter always garaged. Get many "chances" to sell it...:-)

Also, 1951 M38-A1 Jeep...owned since 1987, Purchased as salvage, no title...great "companion"...'specially when we lived in Colorado and could use it regularly. Plowed much snow and did many Mountain trails...:-)

Why yes I do. I was in California in grade school but vividly remember parking our car overnight in a line over a mile long to get gas in the morning. I remember there was a three flag system Red - no gas Yellow - emergency vehicles only and Green - general public. At that time dad sold his Maveric Grabber with a boss 302 in it and we listed our AMC Brill that had a beast of a pancake gasoline motor midship.

Well, it is confession time. There is no way I can keep up with all those vehicles. Some of them haven't run for years and don't even have batteries!!

They all ran well when I got them but I have neglected them simply because I can't keep up.

Now for a list of ones which I can actually go out and start and operate when I choose;

'60 White WC22PLT 5T
'63 TR4
'53 JD 60
'58 Ford 601
'46 Aeronca Champion
'64 Jeep CJ5
'77 Lincoln Continental Towne Coupe, 30K Mi
'86 and '88 Dodge minivans
'89 Cadillac Deville
'94 Dodge Cummins one ton, 210K Mi

These will run with a small amount of work, like batteries and fuel system flushing;

'31 Chevy 1-1/2 ton dual rears
'42 GMC 2-1/2 ton 6x6
'52 GMC M135 2-1/2T 6x6
'59 American-LaFrance C910 pumper
'53 IHC Super M
'71 Dodge CN900 Cummins Tractor
'71 Ward-LsFrance Ford C750 pumper, 4WD
'84 Jaguar XJ6.

These require some serious mechanical work;
'53 GMC 630 5T
'54 GMC 630 5T

These are quasi show vehicles, not prize winners but ones that will not embarrass me;

'31 Chevy 1-1/2 ton dual rears

'52 GMC M135 2-1/2T 6x6

'46 Aeronca Champion

We live in our 68 MCI 5A and use our 87 Jeep Wagoneer daily. The 59 Ford F 100 and the 62 TR4 are 1500 miles from us and i will not see them until we get back to Yuma for the winter. Then i get them out of storage and drive them around some.
