For any of you Busnuts that are heading to Burning Man, I will have my Jungle Bus there, barring any unforseen problems, and will be with Playa Magic camp at Adapt and 3:30. GREAT location. This will be the first trip for the girl, and although she is not (never will be) done, she is looking pretty decent. Come by and we will swap stories and I will buy you a cold one! I'm heading out early and doing volunteer work for the DMV so I will not have email for a couple weeks. starting wed next week. SeeYa on the playa! Jim (Jungle Jim on the playa) |

Jim is Burning man kind of like a folk festival? I was looking at it on you tube, looked like a cool gathering. Dave L |

Dave, I wouldn't call it a folk festival, more like the second biggest party in the world - they say there is one in Europe that is bigger. It really is fun, something for everyone from the very calm to off the chart crazy. This is my second year and like so many others, I am hooked. Last year was 49500 people, lasts 7 days but some stay longer. Not for everyone, but if you like it, it's a lifestyle and you start planing the next before this one is over. Call me if you want to talk, my No is on my profile. Jim |

Just a couple of things to note: "Off the chart crazy." The nearest town is Gerlach Nevada, which does have A gas PUMP. Bruno runs the motel, the one-pump gas station, and the restaurant in Gerlach. The whole thing occurs in the middle of nowhere on an ALKALI SALT FLAT, where 50 mph winds are not unusual. I've run by it on the train for the last 5 years. The alkali is so strong it causes signalling problems for the railroad, and vehicles leaving Buning Man are easily identified 200 miles away from the white dust. Other than that, its great. G |

George, Off the charts crazy - Check Bruno's gas pumps (he has two) - Check It was a bit windy this year. The PH of the playa is around 10-11. BTW - Don't trust what the DOE or the AAA says about area fuel prices around the time of the festival. Bruno's was 3.15 for diesel. |
