If memory serves, it was about this time last year that someone put together a gathering at Carthage, MO. My father, wife, son, and I drove up and visited with what I found to be some of the friendliest folks I've ever encountered.
While we had driven my car up there last year, I vowed that this year I would be driving our bus. (which we had not even purchased yet) That particular gathering, and the great folks that let us tour their busses, was exactly what was needed for my wife to realize my dream of converting a bus.

Now here we are nearly a year later. I've bought my 4106, spent many months going through various systems and making minor mechanical repairs. Getting started on the interior conversion itself.

Now I'm trying to find any information on this gathering. Is it going to happen again this year? If so, When?

The only thing I lack of being able to hit the road is insurance and tags. I've got to come up with a picture for the insurance co. showing a stove, sink, and bed in the interior before they will issue coverage. I'd like to get this done in time to drive up and visit with everyone again.

So I guess I am still confused about the dates of this event. Can someone clear it up? Is this a week long event or a weekend?

Send Christy a PM, I know the dates posted are a little goofy. Most likely the weekend.

Christy confirmed it is the 9th - 11th.

I hope I can bring my "work in progress but still using it just the same" 4106. I will hardly get the temps up to drive it out there from Springfield, MO.

Sorry Ed, but I've had a few things on my plate this year, and just haven't been able to get on the boards as much as usual, so I missed this post.

Yes, PLEASE come to the rally. . we hold it every year on the same weekend. . . which is usually around the 10th of October or so. This year it officially runs from the 9th through the 11th, but often, people come in Wednesday or Thursday even.

The Jersey rally, (originally held by the NJT busnuts) at the Big Red Barn RV park in Carthage, Missouri, is a centrally located rally, open to all busses, wanna be's, friends of buses, etc. There are no rally fees nor firm schedule, just a weekend of doing whatever you want, from variuos things such as the Apple Butter Festival in Mount Vernon to Colaws RV Salvage to just sitting around the fire ring.

We do ask that everyone planning to attend reserve with the rv park asap so that they can have enough spots for us. You can register at http://www.bigredbarnrvpark.com or call them at (417) 358-2432. Please do contact me at chicks@ionet.net if you plan on attending, just so that I can kind of have an idea of how many to expect.

Don't hesitate to ask any and all questions, as I hesitate to clog up the boards with long-winded posts about a rally that some are just DYING to attend, but simply live to far away! Thanks for your interest and PASS THE WORD, ha ha. Christy Hicks

Christy,
We'll be there even if we can't get the coverage for the bus. (although hopefully Monday I can get enough installed to meet the ins. requirements). Even though we didn't get to stay long last time, we had a great time. The wife has been talking about your cat all year. Can't wait to see how much it has grown!

Larry,
If I drive the 4106, maybe we can meet up at Springfield and 'caravan' over together. Can't help but think it'd be kinda cool to see a pair of 4106s rolling down the road together.

Hi Bob, glad to see you on the board. If nothing else i think you can probably find out more info by going to the Eagles International web site. Ed. (across the street from you in Yuma )
