I have heard very little about "belly cars". What kind of car are they and where can you find one? Are they actually small enough to fit in a standard bay? Greg |

You mean the Swiss/Japanese/Mexican car for motorhomes due out next year? I believe it's called the Flatenwagen Origami Tini Dos Equis. |

Most have cut down the Honda 600, here is a link to a discussion, with one guy selling one. http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic=13021.15 |

And here on BNO... http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/233/4914.html http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/233/1597.html etc., etc. Type some appropriate words into the search engine - you'll find plenty. As well, careful of the weight on the bay floor. There is a discussion here: http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/233/2860.html including a response from Luke @ US Coach. http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/233/9643.html including an excellent answer from RJ Long. The topic of total weight here: http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/233/10198.html including excellent details from Sean Welsh. Again, etc., etc. I can't find it now, but I wrote something on an Eagle I used to drive where the baggage doors were converted from 1/2 fold-ups (for lack of a better term) (does anyone know what the official term is?) to cafe-style doors. I took a charter away with this bus and the flex of the bus combined with the torque created as we were rounding a tight curve quickly, sprung the cafe door from it's latch at the top of the compartment. (Please don't ask how long it took us to stop the bus and retrieve the luggage which blew out as a result!) I use this example to illustrate that there are several weight considerations which, combined with fresh/gray/black/fuel tanks and assorted other paraphernalia slung under our 30 to 40 year old buses, make it advisable to study how much more the understructure can handle. There was a 4905 close to me that had an old Austin Mini cut down to fit in the middle luggage bay. Cute! Ian www.busnut.com |

do you mean horizontal bi-folds doors boss-nut ? ~ thought your comment was going to be a introduction of a new "intuitive" BNO search engine that scans a comment and offers archive links, that would of been impressive, just like the one you manual brought forth form the archives, thanks for the example/reminder, we will always need more ways here to share more; which encourages more data contributions to this vital bus exhange. |

Damn that other board. We're #2, hey, we're #2! Also :~) Nellie, pour vous, je voudrais le faire durer éternellement. Again... ;~) Ian www.busnut.com |

"foldy-up-y doors" it is - this brings me to my first suggestion ever for this fine BBS - An OFFICIAL Bus Dictionary/Thesaurus - feel free to use this idea as you deem fit - I do have some entries for items that end in "thingies" - As you were |

thugs and ruffians.... Excuse moi, non fumee pas dans mon autobus. hmmm, coach masc or fem? Easier to mumble over the mike than type it out... Cafe moyen avec creme, s'il vous plait, and one of those donuts over there to share? Wouldn't putting a modest Chev 350 into the golf cart solve the bay car thing? happy coaching! buswarrior |

MCI had a rubber hinged door that swung up in one piece the later style starting with the MC7 used a Pantograph style door which is in use today. this door pulls out and goes up parallel to the coach body saveing space between coachs at terminals. Dave L |

well I can see why he made himself boss bus nut, that is exactly the word I was looking for to describe them doors; & how to summon his great wisdom to the board, just mention that other board. Quia (HUh, WHAT) ? sorry viveye that is about it, well I may have overcome the fear of learning Quebecois tongue which was installed in me when I had the opportunity to learn , I have not re-created such a opportunity & finally the Internet makes a fluent second language seem redundant once again, as long as we this fragile communication tool remains functional, that is dosen't join the tower of babel in thte ruin pile. |

Well, this has(n't) been very informative. I get asked if I'm serious because I used the wrong terminology (belly car, bay car) Pardon my French! Thanks Dreamscape, that information helped. I found out what I needed to know on the "other board". Carry on; Greg |
